So the phone rings, right at lunchtime. I look at the caller ID, and it's the Dish Network; oh, lovely, a telemarketer calling during lunch. I pick it up, figuring I will stop the chipper telemarketer mid-spiel and ask to be put on their "do not call" list. The sales pitch starts...
And it's in Spanish. FAIL.
Folks who know me will understand why - my legal name (the one listed in the phone book) is Hispanic-origin (although my last name is decidedly Italian). Apparently someone from the Dish Network got the bright idea to have a Spanish language recording for any Spanish-sounding name. Here's a tip: Have more than some $8/hour intern decide who is or isn't Spanish.
Because you sure as heck lost any chance of ever having me as a customer over this bit of multi-culti BS...

When I was in the Navy Reserve, somebody had to set up my government travel card for me...because I refuse to press or say ANYTHING for English. I just wait for it to start as the default language.
Bank of America doesn't default, it hangs up.
But to the stupid, senor, your last name could be Hispanic. All you tinted folks speaky that same funny language, dontcha?

I get ones in chinese, because my some chinese people have the same last name as me, but my family name is from England.
