Woman ‘grateful’ to survive shootout that killed 4; bond denied for 3 suspects
Three hoods walked into a store with an assault rifle and handguns - in Chicago, IL mind you, which has gun laws that prohibit law abiding citizens from carrying firearms legally - and started shooting. The first person killed was the store's armed security guard - yeah, in a state that prohibits lawful concealed carry, in a county that until very recently banned handgun ownership, crime is so out of control that convenience stores post armed guards. The hoods killed two more people before the store's owner grabbed a gun and shot one dead.Three days after she was shot multiple times during a shoot-out at a South Side store in which four people were killed, Reeisa Jackson said she was in a lot of pain but “grateful to have survived.”
Speaking from her hospital bed Saturday, Jackson, 39, said she was at the register at the store, the Connect, in Altgeld Gardens on Wednesday night when the shooting started. She doesn’t recall much from the wild gunfight that left her with bullet wounds in her thigh and buttocks.
It bears reiterating. Guns weren't the problem here. I'll donate $100 to the Brady campaign if ANY of the guns used by the hoodlums were obtained through legal channels. Even if by some miracle they were legally owned, the instant those thugs set foot outside their property they were committing felonies. All three were ineligible to own handguns under IL state law.
And besides, murder is still illegal in any case, but that sure didn't stop them, did it?
Dead Goblin Count: 208
That is all.

Cook county has an assault weapon and a normal capacity magazine ban.
So not only were the goblins breaking yet another magical force field, the store's owner was at a distinct disadvantage compared to what was most likely a 30 round magazine.
More of a disadvantage than the whole rifle v pistol thing, that is.
Yup. Life in safe, gun-free Chicago is a wonderful thing. So wonderful that I don't live there any more. BTW, the store owner and clerk probably didn't have permits for the pistols that kept the store owner and customers alive when the fine family of thugs came in shooting.
