Robber tussles with martial-arts expert, gets beaten and shot
A man who tried to rob a mixed martial-arts expert at gunpoint found himself no match for his intended victim this weekend, police said.Here's the best part: The MMA fighter complied with the robber's demands - he turned over his wallet - right up until the point where he was told to get out of the car. IOW, Miranda had the dude's money, wallet, credit cards, etc. but got greedy - he wanted the car too - and wound up getting his sorry ass beat like a rented mule for it. Here's the best part: From another story from ChiefJayBob, we find out that Miranda is being charged with discharge of a firearm... Even though it was into his own leg!
Anthony Miranda, 24, faces a charge of discharging a weapon during a robbery in the Southwest Side attack, which left him wounded in the ankle and badly bruised from his confrontation with the 33-year-old man he robbed, police said.
Sometimes it doesn't have to add to the DGC to put a smile on your face...

Unpossible! In spite of SCOTUS, we KNOW that there's no guns in Chicago!
I wonder if he knows he has the right to remain silent....
And of course, this happened in Chicago AND the now badly beaten robber was a prohibited person.
I hope this'll make him change his ways, but I doubt it.
A little-known Miranda right: If you cannot afford an ass whooping, one will be provided without charge.

The grim part of what is a fantastic feel-good-story was if this had been a regular person and not a professional fighter, this story would have just been a fatal car jacking and not even made the news.
