Minivans of the Future Appear in Detroit
Two very different visions of the future of the minivan made are on display at the 2012 North American International Auto show.Well, when I hear "Taxi of Tomorrow", what naturally comes to mind but "Johnny Cab"?
The Nissan e-NV200 combines the battery-powered drivetrain of the Nissan Leaf with the platform of the company’s small conventional van that will be serving as New York City’s “Taxi of Tomorrow” starting in 2013.

Johnny!
Then I found the picture of the Nissan e-NV200:
Envy? I Think Not
The resemblance is uncanny!
That is all.

Note to self: for movie title hint, see blog post title.
I was sitting here going "Hmm. Fifth Element? No, human-operated. Blade Runner? Don't think so. I remember someone ripping Johnny out of the way, but who was it??"
I love my Nissan truck (when I'm not fighting to replace the radiator), but some of their more recent additions are giving me a strong sense of WTF. See also: Nissan Juke, Nissan Cube.
Now why in the world would they pay high-priced designers when they can simply rip off old sci-fi for their new bodystyles? :P
