Place Your Bets!

How do you think this is going to turn out?

Obama’s uncle due in court in drunken driving case

FRAMINGHAM - President Barack Obama’s uncle will be back in court on drunken driving charges this week, when his lawyer is expected to ask a judge to toss out the results of a blood-alcohol test and statements he made to police.

Onyango Obama, the half-brother of the president’s late father, was arrested in Framingham in August. A police officer said Obama made a rolling stop at a stop sign and nearly caused his cruiser to crash into Obama’s sport utility vehicle.

I've posted in the past about how Massachusetts does not adequately punish those found guilty of drinking and driving. I've posted stories of folks on their fifth, sixth, or even seventh offense still out and about, driving the streets of Massachusetts with the rest of us, all perfectly legally. There's a mandatory jail sentence of five years in prison after like the fifth offense, yet folks are out back on the streets driving under the influence in months, not years.

You think President Obama's uncle will see a moment of jail time - or any other punishment - for his first infraction? Somehow, I find that terribly unlikely. Now, don't get me wrong - I don't think Obama is going to intervene, nor ask anyone to intervene on his behalf either officially or anonymously. I think that the judge presiding over the case will decide its in the best interest of his or her judicial career to continue without a finding and hope Unkie Alkie doesn't kill someone later on.

Who wants to take that bet?

That is all.

Well sir, you are undoubtedly correct, but I imagine obongo will intercede AT LEAST to keep 'unc' from being deported, as he is an illegal. But then so is obongo...

I foretell that he will be sentenced to free lifetime medical care, free counseling, and a free green card.

Darn......

It was only last week that I had Jury duty in Framingham District Court.......

In any case, since Caddalac Deval is the Vice Chair of the re-election campaign and this will get a LOT of press corverage ( at least in the the alternate media) I'll predict they throw him under the BUS. He gets a $500 fine and a loses his ( illeagaly obtained ) Drivers license for 6 months - which will be immedatly re-instated based on a "Hardship requirement that he able to drive to work" ( that he's not eligble to do )
