Another Milestone...

Last night was BabyGirl G.'s first recital. She's been taking violin lessons through her elementary school, and last night was her first concert.

Strings

They had four different groups play the concert: Beginner band, beginner strings, advanced band, and advanced strings. The beginners went first, and we stayed for three out of four groups - TheBoy had several friends in advanced band, plus a few of my Scouts, so we sat through their set as well.

Beginner strings played three songs: "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star", "Lightly Row", and "This Old Man". They sounded, well, like you'd expect a group of 8- and 9- year olds playing violins, violas, and cellos for the first time in concert, but it was still a wonderful time.

Music to this dad's ears, to be sure...

That is all.

With my 3 daughters involved in Band/Choir I know how you feel to see her up there on the stage. The sense of pride for her must be like mine, boundless.

Tell her to knock 'em silly with her skills and to enjoy herself.

Congrats, Jay! You sound proud as punch, as you should be.

Come to think of it, that's something else you can talk to my Miss Zoe about. (She plays cello.)
