Because We Love Beautiful Things...

Dennis was kind enough to share the latest masterpiece from Dragon Leatherworks:

New holster!

Wait. You can't truly appreciate it that way!

Perfect match

Much better. That's a Cimarron Arms Model P in .45 LC, a reproduction of the Colt Peacemaker. It's far too dangerous to be MA-legal, of course...

I'll let Dennis tell you about the holster:

The holster is Vegetable-tanned Cowhide and Ostrich Leg skin. The main holster panel is cut from 8 ounce Veg Tan. The inlay window is 2 - 3 ounce Veg Tanned, and is applied to the main leather in a back-to-back fashion, so as to have top grain on both the inside and outside of the holster. The Ostrich Leg leather is finished in a rich British Tan. The laminating of the leathers yields a holster constructed on a total 12 ounce leather thickness. Each finished holster is fitted to the specific revolver (in this case for a popular Cowboy Action piece).

Holster will be available on the Dragon Leatherworks website in mid-June. Holster model name is the Diablo. Holster has Western-style hammer loop (a hammer loop is a leather thong which passes through the holster body and wraps around the hammer spur, to retain the revolver in the holster properly) for positive retention.

Diablo...the ultimate in a revolver BBQ holster.
I like it. A lot.

And, one last shot of it in use:

El Diablo

I've already told Dennis that when I eventually escape MA for an OC-friendly state, I am commissioning him to make one of these for my Model 27...

That is all.

Wow that ostrich leg leather is FANTASTIC looking!

Now the big question is after Dennis skinned the leg, what he do with the drumstick?

Jay did you ask him if they could make it for longer barreled revolvers, rather than just the short-barreled variant pictured? ;)

Mildly off topic... would an actual Colt Peacemaker also be illegal in MA? Because that would just be too stupid for words.

Actually, it would be too stupid for words either way.

It would not be illegal to own - only handguns that run afoul of the AWB are actually verboten - it would be illegal for an FFL to sell you one.

And yes, it is too stupid for words...

Joseph de Maistre wrote in an August 15, 1811 letter:
“Toute nation a le gouvernement qu’elle mérite.” (Every country has the government it deserves.) -Lettres et Opuscules Inédits (1851)

This has been updated to "You get the government that you deserve".

The responsibility of changing government is up to the voters.

What do you deserve?

What are you doing to get the government you deserve?

How do you reconcile this with the concept that what you deserve may move with you?

Okay, I realize the answer will probably make my head hurt but.....

By what "reason" does a single action six gun run afoul of the Mass. gun laws?
