Home Depot, Merchant of Death...

Hey Weer'd, here's one for the Gun Death? files, right down I-90...

Worcester Jewelry Store Owner Stabbed During Robbery
WORCESTER (CBS) – The owners of a Worcester jewelry store are recovering after a robber beat them and made off with a stash of jewelry.

A witness saw a man outside of the Garabedian Jewelers on West Boylston Street, putting a black face mask on. “I heard glass breaking and a few people screaming,” says Stefan Sandvos.
Dude runs into the store and smashes the glass on a display case with a hammer. Did you know that there are more laws governing how teddy bears are made than hammers? Home Depot should be ashamed of themselves, selling Estwings to anyone that walks through the door, regardless of whether or not they have a CHL (Concealed Hammer License).

Jokes aside, do a Google search on "hammer attack". Murders, assaults, threats, they're all there. But there's no Coalition To Stop Hammer Violence. It's interesting that when one piece of metal is used by a psychopath to hurt others, it's front page news and full of the usual suspects wringing their hands and whinging about how the US is so uncivilized for letting just anyone that piece of metal, yet when it's a different type of piece of metal we just shrug it off.

If they weren't so intent on stripping away our basic liberties, they'd be laughable...

That is all.

Banning or licensing the sale and possession of hammers is not that far off. All you have to do is to look to the once and now not so 'Great' Britain and their numerous knife laws. They not only control guns but now control knives, even tiny pocket knives and plastic knives. They actually made an attempt, a few years back to ban glass mugs from pubs. All this has been in the name of preventing violence but the violence in England just keeps getting worse.

Some day, if not already, they may even control tools like hammers. My bet is you could get arrested today for nonchalantly walking down the street in merry old England swinging a hammer in a nonthreatening manner, at least if it was a claw hammer (and thus had a fairly sharp edge). The control freaks do want that type of control here too and it will start here as soon as they control all of the guns if they are allowed to get that far.

All the best,
GB

It's not as if there is any legitimate use of a hammer any more except for attacking people and damaging property. When is the last time you saw a claw-hammer or framing hammer being used by a professional builder? It's all pneumatic and powder actuated tools now, or scew-guns for the drywallers and window installers.

The need for average people to have hammers went away a long time ago, and belongs to an age that has passed. We are much more civilised now.

My wife is forming the Coalition to Stop Gastro-Intestinal Domestic Assualt.

Ban all Mexican food!

I told her she was being racist.

I slept on the couch anyway.
