BOSTON (CBS) – Video of a brutal beating on the Red Line went viral, and the man who shot it is coming under fire for not stepping in. Watch Video Here (Warning: explicit language)Are you kidding me? In Massachusetts, home of the infamous "we discourage self-help", people are questioning why a man would not intervene in a woman attacking another man? This guy would have had Terry O'Neill calling for his head on a platter for multiple hate crimes. He did absolutely the right thing - he got video, was a good witness, and that's it. From the video, it doesn't appear that the person on the receiving end of the attack was seriously injured, and doesn't want to place charges.
Last Thursday night as the train approached Park Street, a woman accused a man of stepping on her dog’s paw and then made good on her threat of violence, punching the man several times in the head.
She went nuts on this dude because she thinks he stepped on her dog's paw? Lady, it's the freakin' T. You bring your dog on public transportation at your own peril (well, and that of the dog's). I understand that people can be very attached to their pets and all, and think about how I'd handled it if someone stepped on my kid's foot - I certainly wouldn't start beating on someone for it, though, unless it were egregious, deliberate, and malicious.
It does raise an interesting question, though. I've been brought up - and I've brought up my son this way, for good or ill - that you simply do not hit women. I won't do it, I won't tolerate it, and if you do it in my presence there will be trouble, period. But how to handle it if you're being attacked? Self-defense shouldn't depend on the gender of one's attacker - but it's obvious from the video that this chick was letting her mouth cash checks her scrawny ass couldn't cash. That dude would have had every right in the world to cold-cock her into next month.
But yeah, the dude with the camera was at fault for not stepping in - that sound you hear is me rolling my eyes so hard I nearly detach my retinas...

IF you click over to the youtube site for the video and read the top comment. I guess she has done this before and has been arrested before for it. She also pulled down her facebook page where she brags about it.
Seems like she has a reputation for this. Maybe she does need a good smack to set her straight.

Jack: That was the point. We were taught to not strike a lady. That woman was no lady. Therefore, striking her was still an option.
But I believe men and women are equal, and I abuse all of them equally.
I wouldn't have stepped in for the same reason why I wouldn't shoot a violent intruder in Jay's home.
It's Jay's home, he gets to shoot the guy, I'm just there to back him up. Same with Jay at my place, he backs me up, I shoot the goblin.
This guy just covered up and waited it out. If he needed to he could have probably knocked her out with one shot. He didn't feel the need, so obviously there wasn't a need.

Jay, the "victim" looked like he was probably about 6 feet tall. He was just covering up and waiting out an "attack" that might have hurt a 6 year old but hell... I don't think he even would have had any bruises. Kind of like being attacked by a kitten.
Being of the distaff persuasion myself, I'd say that if the female throws the first punch, then the man is fully justified in defending himself - not in escalating things, but defending himself. I'd say the guy on the video did the right thing, and the guy who made the video did the right thing, especially given the location.

If someone hits you, beat them till they never forget and don't hit a woman unless she hits you first. If she does then teach that dumb bitch why you don't hit men
That type of action comes from someone who has never been hit back. She has gotten by in life by throwing shit-storm tantrums & getting what she wants. A good open handed swat (target of your choosing) would do wonders. Of course, she will probably then call 911 and have you arrested.
I'm with previous Anonymous. When someone attacks me, their sex doesn't matter any longer.
