Jake alerts us to a particularly nasty bill pending in, of all places, Virginia.
In a nutshell, the governor wants to be able to seal all records on search warrants for GPS tracking of suspects, as well as being able to punish anyone who talks about it. Forever. Jake does a pretty good job of detailing the opposition - while it's certainly understandable that the warrants should be sealed *during* the investigation, it's baffling why the records need to be sealed indefinitely, and it flies directly in the face of the Fifth Amendment.
If you're in VA, please write your congresscritter about this bill...
That is all.

Thanks! When I saw the story about these bills this morning, I was quite literally stunned by how horrible they are.
Update: The Senate version has passed, unanimously. It now has to go to the House for approval. The House version looks to be on the verge of passing, but they have adjourned for the day.
Looks like we’re buggered.
Remember Virginia's motto. Sic Semper Tyrannis. We've sorted out more than a few tyrants in our day
Will make my rep's phone ring earliest chance.
Thanks for the heads up.
