I don't think Cadillac Deval is going to run for another term here in MA.

Vacationing Patrick zinged in absentia at pols’ breakfast

If Gov. Deval Patrick’s ears are burning today, it wasn’t from the hot tropical sun. The governor, who has spent the past week vacationing in the Virgin Islands, was roundly mocked at today’s ribald political roast, the South Boston’s Saint Patrick’s Day Breakfast.

“The governor does manage to do a great job of pretending to be your governor,” quipped Auditor Suzanne Bump, said after detailing all Patrick’s recent junkets and vacations.

The St. Patrick's Day political roast is a MA institution. Given that Patrick has attended the roast the past five years, and it's been in play for the past 17, it's not like he couldn't have scheduled his vacation to make it to the event. Instead, he sends "Crash" Murray - complete with helmet - in his stead, kinda like Batman sending Robin to the Superhero Convention. Except of course that Robin wouldn't roll his car at nearly double the speed limit on the way...

Elizabeth Warren tried to get into the spirit of things, taking potshots at Scott Brown - this time she didn't make mention of his Cosmo appearance, even. Joe Kennedy III (but Bush was a dynasty, remember) attempted to fit in by reading off cue cards - err, I mean, his "top ten list" of questions he's asked. I'm guessing "Which bar would you be tending if your last name wasn't Kennedy?" wasn't one of them...

Skipping traditional events to jet off on vacation - looks like Cadillac Deval has been learning from Obama!
