Today's one of my favorite days of the year - the day I pick the Harley up from storage. With a standard garage, two large vehicles, and a full touring bike there's just not enough room to store the bike for the winter. Most years it's a net win - I'll drop it off just as the cold weather is setting in and pick it up just before things start getting nice.
Sometimes, like this year, it bites me in the butt - it was 80 degrees and gorgeous last week and the bike was still in storage. I've had years where I've dropped it off in the middle of Indian Summer - but that was the only convenient time. More often than not, though, it's a relief to know that I don't have to play vehicular Tetris for the entire winter.
And, of course, as I wait for the bike I'm watching the snow come down...
That is all.

Didn't you get the Memo? That's not Snow, that's Global Warming! And it's ALL YOUR FAULT! Driving around in Earthf$&@ers, riding Big Harleys, fessup, you HATE Mother Gaia!
Any you're Probably a Secret 1%er ,too! ; )
I don't know how you stand it up there, between the weather and the gun laws. Here in North Georgia, I can ride the Super Glide pretty much all year and carry most anywhere I want! Happy riding, Jay!
I hear you Jay. When I buy a house the Triumph will live in the garage and the Subaru can sleep in the driveway.
The Triumph needs more wrenching than the Subaru anyway, so it only makes sense.
Sorta like pulling the furs out of storage in the Fall, hmm? What pampered lives we all lead, yeah?
Congrats on the happy reunion with yer hawg.
I know how you feel. Picked up my Street Glide last Saturday (actually, WS picked it up because I had a hand issue). It has either been extremely windy, or snowy, or cold, or all 3 this week. Hoping to go for a short ride tomorrow, to test my hand out, before the snow hits in the afternoon.
Life is full of tradeoffs. We put up with 4 months a year without the bike, but in exchange we get that awesome New England riding the other 3 seasons. Sure can't beat here in the fall, when there is just enough nip in the air to make wearing your gear comforable.
