Just wanted to say a quick thanks to everyone who posted comments on the "Pain" thread. I've gotten e-mails from folks as well, some offering ideas on remedies, some just offering good thoughts. It's all greatly appreciated; I hadn't intended for it to be a "pity post", just kind of a meditation on how pain can affect one's view. At first I thought I might be more ranty than usual, but really, the pain just takes so much out of me that I don't have the energy.
Secondly, a more general thank you. To all the folks that send me stories, links, pictures, cartoons, etc. - thanks! Sometimes I post the item, sometimes not, and I just wanted to say that even if I don't post what you sent in, it doesn't mean I don't appreciate it. Sometimes it's a story that I've seen covered around the blogs; sometimes it's because I've already got posts cued up; sometimes (ahem) I've already covered it. In all cases, I appreciate it when folks send me interesting or infuriating or uplifting stories.
And sometimes it's nice to open my e-mail and see something other than "DOOD ENLARGE WITH C I A L I S"...

Interesting... they usually just mangle my name, instead. (casually trying to keep Sumdood from knowing that we've guessed his identity...)
