Intruder shot to death at Charlotte home
Police say the occupant of an east Charlotte home fatally shot an intruder during a break-in attempt Tuesday.The shooter, who was alone in the home at the time of the shooting, was interviewed by detectives and will not be charged at this time, according to a police statement late Tuesday.
There's some dustup because the homeowner and the newly deceased "knew each other" - which, without clarification, is absolutely meaningless. It could have been someone that came to the house to deliver a package; it could have been someone that had been doing yardwork in the area. Without anything more to go on than "they knew each other", it's meaningless. Since the homeowner was not charged, it falls in the good shoot column cleanly.

The shooter has been confirmed to be the boyfriend of the woman who owns the house. The shooter just returned from military service from overseas. The people I know who know him report that he's a really good guy, an example of America's best.
