“Turn Tail and Run” Law Proposed
You know what the sad part about this is, though? It's uncomfortably close to how a good portion of the legislature actually thinks. I'd wager that politicians like Bloomberg, Menino, Lautenberg, etc. probably think this is a fine idea - I mean, come on, it's not like criminals target the infirm or the weak, right? I mean, Hizzoner never has to worry about coming face to face with a mugger, so they must not really exist, right?Washington, D.C. Senator Lousenburg (D. NJ) has filed the “Turn Tail and Run” (TTR) bill in the U.S. Senate which, if passed, would preempt ALL State “Stand Your Ground” (SYG) laws. The new bill would impose a national duty to retreat at all times when one encounters a criminal threat or is about to become a victim of violent crime. New York City Mayor Bloomingidiot has made passage of the “TTR” a centerpiece of his national "Second Chance at Shoot First" campaign. The mayor heartily approved of TTR, especially since bodyguards of celebrities, VIP’s, and political figures were exempted.
Anyway, bravo to the good folks at Pro-Gun NH for this biting bit of satire.
That is all.
Brought to my attention by Skidmark, who I think was also alarmed at how close to reality this really is...

The fundamental error is in thinking politicians give a damn about crime. What they fear are responsible, self aware, independent thinking armed citizens.
So does that mean I can now get a Federal Tax Credit if I install a Safe Room in my Home?
Wait a minute, I realize that some folks don't live in the free states of America, but I didn't realize France had begun to annex the others.
How sad is it that I thought (for just a few moments) that this might actually be true?
*shakes head sadly*
