S&W Shield: Not quite what I expected. It's a little bigger than the LC9/PM9/etc. Definite design cues of the Bodyguard 380, right down to the three levers on the left side. Pictures will be forthcoming.
Ruger 10/22 takedown: I like it! The break is clean and simple; it looks like cleaning it would be an absolute snap; and the MSRP is not a lot more than the standard 10/22. I think this is going to be a runaway hit.
AD, OldNFO, and I have been talking to folks about Kilted to Kick Cancer. Very positive reaction, quite a few folks have offered items for prizes. AD and I are going to shake a few folks down talking to others about gear and equipment for the contest.
The show is busy. I don't think it was that crowded in Pittsburgh or Charlotte. Either that or the venue is smaller than previous venues. But there's some 60,000 people here, and it shows.
Planning. This was about the worst weekend to have the NRA convention in St. Louis. There was a Blues playoff game last night; the Cardinals opening day was today; and there's a marathon on Saturday. Add in the NRA convention and it's just madness...
Bloggers - I've already met Squeaky, Snarky, DaddyBear, AD, OldNFO, NUGUN, and a bunch of commenters. We're expecting more folks tonight, and more than likely will meet more tomorrow and Sunday.
There's still, even at the NRA convention, an undercurrent of less-than-enthusiasm for the blogging community. When some folks realize that the "media" is "only" bloggers, the tone changes - it was interesting to see.
More tomorrow, and starting next week when I get home lots of pictures!
That is all.

LOL! "Only Bloggers"
If they only realized the power of those bloggers in the shooting community...
"Only Bloggers" Indeed. Hell, even my humble pile of mildly annoyed electrons get 200 hits a day.
Because of "only bloggers" I've purchased a PSL, a Mosin-Nagant, a P-64, an LC9, a Marlin 1895, and two Mossberg 500s. The only gun I've bought because of anything resembling "traditional media" is a Mini-14, which I decided to get after reading the specs on Ruger's own web site.
I can see being reluctant to hand out T&E samples to everyone with "www" on their business cards, but what's the cost of answering some questions and posing for a picture or three? No publicity is bad publicity.
See if you can find "the blogfather" over there, lawdog's attending with press credentials.
Keep an eye on where the tornado shelters are. Sounds like the weather might get a little Mid-western today (Sat) and Sunday.
And keep having fun! :)
