New Fashion Wrinkle: Stylishly Hiding the Gun
Woolrich, a 182-year-old clothing company, describes its new chino pants as an elegant and sturdy fashion statement, with a clean profile and fabric that provides comfort and flexibility. And they are great for hiding a handgun. The company has added a second pocket behind the traditional front pocket for a weapon. Or, for those who prefer to pack their gun in a holster, it can be tucked inside the stretchable waistband. The back pockets are also designed to help hide accessories, like a knife and a flashlight.
The New York frikkin' Times just did a positive story on something having to do with concealed carry??? And got most of their fact correct (It's the NYT, I'm certain something there is wrong...). But don't worry! The comments are just chock full of that condescension, ad hominem attacks, and general smarmier-than-thou elitism we have come to expect from the NYT and her readers. Carry a gun for self-defense? You must be a paranoid racist who lives in perpetual fear.
The disconnect is palpable - in one comment, one of the ostriches states that we should take all guns out of the public domain - yet if one were to peruse the very paper they are commenting in, stories would abound of criminals carrying and using firearms - never mind other weapons - on a daily (hourly) basis. So who would be disarmed? The law-abiding. And yet they consider themselves to be the intellectual superiors.
It's a step in the right direction, that's for sure, but we've still got a long road ahead of us.
That is all.

The author of the article isn't someone you'd expect to be sympathetic to gun ownership: degrees from Berkeley and Columbia, lives in San Francisco, and teaches journalism and writing.
I get the feeling he thinks for himself.
If I ever come over the pond for a visit, I'm getting something like these(or more overt, like tactical pants). I'd not be carrying, but at least I might make some bad guys hesitate.
PS: The reason I won't be carrying isn't a matter of want, but of law. Most places require you to be a resident, and there's courses to take, etc. Mind you if I wete on a prolonged stay in say florida, I'd get their non-resident permit.
I just checked the Woolrich site, they offer lots of Woolrich Elite Concealed apparel for men, none for the ladies but that may yet come. I like the Concealed carry Twill Jacket. Am hoping my fsmily reads the blog post I just wrote up about Woolrich and takes my hint!
All the best,

Glenn: They have ladies' cargo pants under the Woolrich Elite lightweight products. Not quite a concealed carry design, but it's a start.
Now if I could just find a some sized to fit me.
