Home invasion turns deadly after shot fired

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A home invasion turned deadly after a shot was fired Wednesday night in Antioch. The invasion and subsequent shooting happened just before 11 p.m. in the 1900 block of Brentridge Circle off of Bell Road.

Metro police told Nashville's News 2 someone inside the home heard a knock on the door and when he opened it a masked man armed with a gun tried to force his way inside.
Up until that point, you'd think that the homeowner was the one shot, right? Well, maybe in occupied territory, but not in Free America. The homeowner had their own firearm, and as the masked, armed assailant pushed their way into the home, shot the dude DRT. Bravo, sir or madam. It also points out the necessity of having your gun on you at all times in the home - while some might consider it paranoid, in this instance it most likely saved this homeowner's life...

Dead Goblin Count: 282

That is all.

That reminds me I need to install a little peep-hole in my door. I can usually see who is on our porch from the dining room window. But, not if they stand closely to the door.

I'm always armed from when I get up in the morning until I go to bed. I have opened the door with my pistol hid behind me but our usual practice is...if we're not expecting you, we're not opening the door.

Who was that masked man?

"Candygra..." (safety clicks off) "...um, wronghousebye!"

The home invasion stuff happens quite a lot around here, but you'd think the goblins would know the odds of meeting an armed resident are a LOT higher in Tennessee.
