Go to about 1:03. Yes, that is a freakin' Honda CRV. Some numbskull thought it would be a grand idea to take an SUV built on a Civic frame around the Nürburgring - a Grand Prix racetrack where supercars cavort. Watch the other vehicles going by - BWM M series, Porsche 911s, Audis, VW GTIs, etc. - with the exception of a Ford F-150, these are all vehicles built to handle high speed turns. They're not top-heavy SUVs.
Oh well - good luck explaining that to your insurance company...
That is all.

Oh c'mon! You're just Jealous that you can't take your Earth F*(#ker over to Europe and open it up! Admit it! ; )
Yeah, I don't think I want to stand so close to the barrier, thanks.
as one that has driven the ring a few times, love living in germany for 8 years, most insurance policies specifically list the ring as a place where your policy is void, i know mine did.
and keep in mind that he will also have to pay to replace the wall that he bounced on, in 10m sections, and at three high that will be very expensive i bet it was around 15-20K euro in track repair fees alone.
It all in the talent of the driver. Sabine Schmitz drove a Transit Van around the Ring faster than most can drive thier 911's and BMW's

.... and yes, standard Track Day policy in the US also is "You bend it you pay for it" including any damage to the track. The track tow truck will not release your car until you've paid the track bill. All US policys specficly exculde "Track Day" type events. You can buy Track day insurance but it's horribly expensive.
and yet there is always a waiting list to sign up for PCA track Days t Watkins Glen, Mt Tremblant and even NHIS
Sorry I just can't imagine running hot laps in my CRV on the Ring.
Saying that we did used to run our rental Plymouth Horizons at Mt. Tremblant after the Jim Russell Series races in the 70"s.

And Jay, the only people who ever call me Gerald were nuns and my mom when she was really angry.

Oddly enough, I just saw an ad for Opening Weekend at Watkins Glen ... where you can run three paced laps in your own car for $25.
Yeah, I'm tempted.
Judging by the debris flying out the back, it looks like the guy was taking trash to the dump/recycling center, took a wrong turn and "went with the flow of traffic".
At least that's how I'd explain it to the significant other...
I don't think they're supposed to dissemble like that....
That'll buff right out.
I hate Gerry most of all, because I've been on a kick watching these videos, and I want my GTI back something FIERCE.
NHIS is calling me...
Spreading the sunshine every where I go!

I think the last of my pastaburners will be sold this spring, but this video reminds me that it needs a thorough flogging first.
Looks like they were on their way to the laundromat- wonder if they got lost?
Jay, aside from Sabine Schmidt's time in a Transit van, there are also two records held by tanks for the 'Ring.
Both British. Both not designed for speed per se.
First is held by British Scorpion (two were in a race)
Second place is held by a Chieftain.
The ring is a place to run your car. Sometimes you eat a wall, sometimes you roll it. Shit happens.
