BOSTON (CBS) – Several American service members finished the 116th Boston Marathon in full uniform on Monday.Full. Damn. Gear. In a marathon. Through the middle of a major city. In 85º+ heat. Last year's winners dropped out of the race because of the heat. And these guys ran it in boots, rucks, and weight packs. And this is their second time doing it. Not shorts, a tank top, and running shoes. Full BDUs, USGI boots, and packs.
“It’s really hot. Difficult. My feet are hurting. We pushed through though,” said John Staruk of Holden, Mass.
The service members, who were wearing boots and carrying backpacks, said it was tough keeping cool as temperatures soared into the 80′s.
You'll find these young men at the intersection of "bad" and "ass"...
That is all.

Their pay is cut while the GSA parties.
Yup, friend of mine ran with them last year, I'll see if I can dig up the pic later.

And I bet they didn't tape their nipples either!
Try doing it when it's 120* some time.
Hard as woodpecker lips.
I contemplated saying something snarky about modern soldiers vs. Marius' Mules ... but on further consideration, I'm sure the legionaires would consider these lads Three Of Their Own.
"Intersection of bad and ass". I agree.
