So imagine my surprise when this showed up on my front porch:
So now I have an excellent scope for my AR project. I've got Wally getting ready with another run of lowers, so that's all set. I've got some great ideas on stocks, triggers, and uppers, so it's a matter of putting all the pieces together into something vaguely resembling an AR-pattern rifle. Kinda like Legos...
A big thanks to Leupold for this scope - I hope I can come close to using even a quarter of its potential!

I knew I forgot to do something over the weekend, I'm sorry Jay.
That will be a great scope. Check to see if the reticule is on the first or second focal plane. You can do this by seeing if the reticule changes size as you just magnification, if it doesn't change size, it's on the second focal plane.
It's by no means a show stopper, but know that the measurement ability of the mil-dots will only be accurate at maximum magnification.
I swear I'll get a post up on my varminter.
I took a quick gander through the scope at my backyard, and I can clearly read the 3X5" nameplate on my kids' swingset (about 75 yards out) on the 12X setting. Something tells me if I can read 1" tall letters at 75 yards, a 4" kill zone on a prairie dog at 300 yards won't be a problem... :D
