Permitless gun carries shot down
CONCORD – The recent spate of wanton gun violence played a part in the state Senate killing a bill that would have expanded the rights of citizens to carry a concealed gun without a permit.
A House-approved bill (HB 536) would have made concealed permits a voluntary option and was strongly opposed by law enforcement groups and by Gov. John Lynch, who vowed to veto it.Read the whole article. The stupid just builds and builds. I especially love how they use the drug dealer in Greenland who shot the chief of police as a reason for disallowing permitless carry. Because, you know, illegal drug dealers always obey the law when it comes to carrying a concealed weapon and would never carry without a permit, right? The article is also downright wrong:
But it also removed a key provision and would allow this non-permit status even for those who lawfully can’t get a permit in the first place, such as a convicted felon.No. No it wouldn't. A convicted felon cannot own a firearm, ergo they cannot legally carry a firearm. A convicted felon who is going to procure a firearm illegally is not going to give a rat's hairy patoot about whether their method of carry is legal or not.
And State Senator Raymond White can kiss my hairy Italian ass:
“I would say to those groups: You are out of your mind if you think we can’t have any restrictions whatsoever.”Senator, with all due respect - which is damn low considering the low amount you've shown us - the State of New Hampshire has a pretty damn low bar to getting a permit to carry. You need a clean record and $20. Seriously. There are no training requirements, nothing, needed - you literally go to the police station, fill out a single sheet of paper, and get your permit inside of a week. All the permit does is give $20 to the state. And you're also forgeting the thousands of Federal gun laws we still have to jump through.
But, hey, we're the ones that are out of our minds for not wanting to send $20 to the state that we don't have to.
That is all.

Gah... once again screwed by the 1%...
Runs about $250-275 Total up here in Buckeye Land. Of course, we have to fill out Forms, get a Picture, get Finger Printed, take a Class, shoot some Ammo and Qualify, then drop the whole thing off at the Sheriff's Office (in Person) during their Scheduled Hours, and hope your Background Check comes back clean.
Which my WONDERFUL RINO FORMER UNITED STATES SENATOR NOW STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL MIKE DEWINE has deemed gives me Reciprocity with only about 20+ other States.
Which means I have to shell out another $100 or so to get a Non-Resident Permit or two from one of those other States that has More Reciprocity, if I want to Concealed Carry in other Locals. So call it $400 to get Maximin "Coverage." Then come the Renewal Fees a few years later.
So shelling out 20 Bucks to get a CHP may suck, but it could be a hell of a lot worse. At least I don't have to have a FOID, or Hi Cap Mag Bans, nor "State-Aprroved" Firearms, etc.
Yet.
So, if it costs a $20 tax to assert your 2nd Amendment right in New Hampshire, will a $100 tax to assert your 1st Amendment rights also be appropriate? How about a $100 tax before you are allowed your 3rd, 4th or 5th Amendment rights? do your detect a theme here?
How about a $100 poll tax to obtain a voter ID, so that we do not have those ineligible to vote casting votes illegally? It is so reasonable to some, but ultimately and rightfully found unconstitutional as a method of discrimination:

It is time to demand that all firearms licensing schemes to be considered unconstitutional, infringing on 2nd Amendment rights. There are no "reasonable" infringements. Misuse of firearms has been and would continue to be prohibited. Keeping and bearing arms is a Constitutional right. Stop tolerating those who would violate your civil rights.
The Nausea telegraph is the boston globe of the granite state. Well one of a few anyway. Like el globo, you have to read through the bias, so I don' t bother. Our license bar, it's not a permit, is lower than you think-- ten bucks for 4 years with a lot of protection for the applicant. The chief in one seacoast town just got hit with a personal fine for delaying a license without cause.
I would love to pay 20 for a permit. Their priceless here in il.
The permit is ten dollars every four years, for the record. Twentybux was the old non-resident fee.
Double-post because Steve beat me by a whole day.
