Police Officer Stabbed, Teen Shot And Killed In New Bedford
NEW BEDFORD (CBS) – New Bedford Police are investigating an outbreak of violence on Cedar Street that left an officer with the gang task force stabbed, and a teenager shot and killed.
According to the mayor’s office, New Bedford Police were patrolling in the Temple Landing development when they came across a group of individuals. An altercation ensued and one of the individuals stabbed a member of the New Bedford Police Department Gang Unit. What's the very next sentence in the story? If you guessed "Officers then shot the 15-year-old suspect" you'd be right.
I'm trying to get behind this mindset. Now, maybe these were plainclothes officers, but generally the gang units tend to be high profile in order to discourage the gang activity. If they were plainclothes, then that kid got one hell of a surprise. If they were uniformed, then WTF did he think was going to happen? Stab a cop, you are going to die. There are no ifs, ands, or buts about that. This was either suicide by cop or TSTL*.
Again, there's a reason the acronym PSGWSP was coined...
That is all.

No +1 to the Dead Goblin Count?
Dead Goblin Count is specifically for non-police officers. Since they actively seek the dregs of society, I didn't want to be accused of "padding the count" by including police shootings...
He was a good kid who was turning his life around.
The officer should have just shot him in the leg.
What else did I forget?

Maybe the kid was using the knife to open his bag of skittles and he tripped while walking home, and the knife magically found its way into the cop. If only the cop wasn't following him, this would've never happened.
Next on "When Keeping It Real Goes Wrong".....
So, if a 15 year old stabs Joe Citizen, is he supposed to emulate the officer?
"What else did I forget?"
He should have just given him what he wanted.
He must be a coward. A real man doesn't need a gun to keep from getting stabbed.
He only had a knife and he shot him? That's excessive force!
He wasn't a troublemaker he was just labeled. (Paraphrase of what one woman actually said in the news report).
