AURORA, Colo. — A 6-year-old boy has been suspended from his suburban Denver school for three days for sexual harassment after quoting a line from a song.
School officials say the first-grader was sent home from Sable Elementary School after telling a girl “I’m sexy and I know it,” a line from a popular song. The school has
No one, not for a second, thought to stop and think about the message sent by punishing a six year old for sexual harassment. At six years old, it's doubtful this kid has any idea what "sexy" even means. Heck, the song was sung during the damn Superbowl. It's highly unlikely he intended to offend any of his classmates; more importantly, it's extremely unlikely that his classmates were ever actually offended. But the policy says we do [X] after [Y] happens, common sense be damned.
Better to extinguish all candles than to have someone singe their arm on the flame, you know. If they didn't have the overly broad policy, why, they might have to make a - GASP - value judgement as to whether or not a first grader is capable of sexual harassment! The horrors! That might lead to having to distinguish between a double edged switchblade and a plastic butter knife! ZOMG!
Gah. The sooner the zombie apocalyse happens the better...
That is all.

Good thing thoose policys were not in place when I went to school. I'm quite sure I (and all of my Male Classmates) never would have been allowed out of the first grade untill we were maybe 10 or 12 and could control impulse to be Boys a little better.
Pfft. Considering what I did out the window on my next-door neighbor when I was four, it's a wonder my head isn't on a pike in N.O.W.'s front lawn.

Oh. My. God. Don't you realize? IT'S ALREADY HERE! Think about it! Mindless husks are shambling around devouring all semblance of intelligence and common sense. And we don't even recognize them because they wear neckties!
I knew those things were evil.
Wow -- this is the same school district that I graduated from many years ago. The same district from which one of my son's is graduating from in about two weeks.
My son has been popped by Aurora Schools twice for "Sexual Harassment" or, as the paperwork reads, "Harassment - Sexual".
Without getting into the laughable details, I can say that the experience has only reinforced in him, and me, and pretty much every thinking being, that public schools are staffed by clueless, brainless, thoughtless cowards. It goes all the way up the chain of teachers, department heads, principals, and administrators.
That poor little kid is doomed. He'll be labeled by every teacher for the rest of his educational career in APS as a problem child, and they'll treat him like he's nothing but trouble. Eventually, that treatment may lead to him assuming the role.
I'm only mildly surprised they haven't listed this 6 year old on a sex-offender registry yet.
How far this once great nation has fallen...
The neckties restrict blood flow to the brain.
