Ruger Service Six in .38 Special. Bobbed hammer, 4" barrel, former police duty gun from before they went to the plastic fantastic. Here's another shot so you can see just how clean this gun is:

The Ruger looks to be 1970's...will run the serial number through Ruger to see if I can get a date of manufacture. Its Stainless, 4" bbl, .38 cal, with Hogue Monogrip. The timing and lockup is still EXCELLENT for a pistol of its age. I will entertain offers for it, but they've got toRuger double action revolvers will do that, I hear. I've got a soft spot for Ruger centerfire revolvers, as the first gun I ever purchased was a Security Six, essentially the same gun as Dennis's but in .357 Magnum instead of .38 Special. It's a rock-solid reliable gun, feels good in the hand, and built like a tank. I expect to be handing this off to my grandson someday - because you never sell your first gun, ever - and it looks like Dennis might be doing the same.
start north of $400 for it...and given that I'm not typically a revolver guy (you know this ALL too well...) I'm not inclined to part with this one easily. It just feels *right* in my hand, with a balance I've not felt in any other revolver I've shot.

Now THAT's a gun. None of this automatic nonsense.
I have one of those, but in 357. Paid about 350 for it. But, unbeknownst to me, some sh#twit had converted it to Double Action Only by welding some pot metal into the hammer.
I got it beadblasted and that part fixed, at least...plus the butt rounded off a little bit. Added a Tyler T Grip to it as well. Mine still has the hammer spur though. I like.

NYPD used these in stainless and DAO, along with GP100 versions shortly before going to Glock/S&W/Sigs. Great guns.
