Now that right there is one beautiful firearm (and a great picture!). Here's Alan's intro:
S&W E Series 1911, bob tail, tritium sights. This is the first 1911 I've ever had that I didn't immediately want to replace the grips.Heh. I can see that. I've been a fan of the Smith & Wesson 1911 line since they introduced them in 2003. I owned one of the target models briefly a few years ago, and it is truly the only gun I've ever sold that I regretted. And the only reason I sold it was because it was my best friend's first gun, and I couldn't think of a finer pistol to have as his first.
The SW1911 I owned was a great shooter - I used to bring it and the S&W model 27 to the range whenever I was feeling a little too "minute-of-berm" because even at 50 feet it was hard to miss the center of the target with either. The E-series is the "leveled-up" version, with custom features that easily rival many custom shop 1911s. It's on the holy grail wish list for me someday, and Alan gets to live the dream every day...
Thanks for sharing, Alan - she's a beaut!
That is all.

Now I need the Texas Legislature to pass an open carry bill. That gun is too pretty to hide under a shirt.
OOOOOH! I just held one of those last night! VERY NICE! And if I was stuck in New York State and had to sell off some Glocks, well, I'd know what would replace them.
Alan, I conceal my S&W Commander just about every day. Plus the Bobtail makes IWB carry that much easier and comfortable.
Jay, what's funny is the first owner of your S&W1911 Target regrets selling it, but is ok as he sold it to you.
Funny history, that gun.
