Here's the story behind this gorgeous single action:
I wanted to show off my latest purchase. This is a Ruger "Old" Vaquero in .45LC, birds head grip, case hardened finish, and 3-3/4" barrel.Yeah, I can see that. I am going to have to pick one of these up, because it just calls to me. I'll get one in .357 Magnum, naturally, since it is my favorite caliber. I'm a big fan of the versatility of the .38 Special/.357 Magnum pairing - loaded hot (especially for a Ruger) you can hunt with a solid .357 Magnum round; loaded light, the .38 Special variants are great for plinking and introducing folks to centerfire handguns.
I had been wanting another single action in .45 LC that could take Ruger loads and had settled on trying to order a Blackhawk. I am sure you know what the market is like currently, so acquiring one was going to entail patience. A few weeks ago, I was passing by my local gun shop and wandered in to see the staff and what was left on their shelves. This was sitting in the case and as soon as I found out it was an "Old" Vaquero I put it on layaway.
This is going to be one of those firearms that will never be sold or traded.
Thanks for sharing this beauty with us, Mike!
That is all.
