Yeah, it's time to get the Harley out of storage. It's been long enough. Time to get out on two wheels. I'm hoping that this season might see some more riding - I put barely 1K on the Harley last year and I desperately need to rectify that this year. Might even try to get back up to Laconia this year after a few years' absence...
Sure hope it warms up a little today, though...

Brad: Another Brit fan? (grin) I went to buy a Bonneville a few years ago and discovered my seat was a lot wider than the bike's, so I got a Triumph America instead. Riding it to the store is like taking an unusual gun to the range - everybody wants to ask about it.
It helped me meet my fiancee too, so it was a great investment.

Not a Brit fan, per se. I tend to gravitate towards the unusual, unique, rare, etc. That & I appreciate Triumph styling. Until your post I had never heard of a Triumph America. Just looked it up . . . I see what mean. Compared to the Bonneville, the America has a 'deeper' seat. Seeing as I have a similar issue as you when it comes to seats, were I in the market for a bike I might go the way you did.

Brad: I think the America is Triumph's nod to the popularity of H-D cruisers. (I.e. they copied the design.) Ordinarily I prefer something that looks more like a traditional street bike, or a cafe racer. The Bonneville was about the only new production bike that still looked like a regular motorcycle to me. But I bought it to ride, not look at, so comfort won.
When it comes time to look for a new bike, I'm thinking of a Suzuki Boulevard.
If you come up for Bike Week this year, be sure to let us know. Heck, bring the boy and stay a night. I'll point ya to where we stay, away from the rowdys of Weirs, and close to the really nice riding.
What a coincidence, my son took his bike for a ride today too but I think this was his second or third ride in the past week or two. You must be getting old to have waited this long!
Jay, I got my 2001 Glide back from the shop today, beautiful riding weather today here in North Carolina, 70's and perfect riding shirt to...York Industies!! Gun friendly to boot. You need to come on down!!
WS picked up his bike yesterday and I will pick mine up in a few hours. Hoping for decent weather so I can ride to work soon - 90 minutes on the bike at 5:30 in the morning means I need some better temps than the 30's we have been seeing.
Now you gone and made me jealous the
worse thing i ever did was sell my 1979 FXE Supperglide bought it new in 79 and sold it in 88 over here in the UK then not common now much more so,trouble is with hardly any working
