#1 Blogdaughter is having the second annual Kid Shoot!
No, they're not actually *shooting* kids, they're teaching kids how to shoot. Last year it was mainly BB guns; this year the children will be graduating to rimfire. That's where I come in. I'll be making the trek down with a handful of my favorite rimfire firearms to help out with the range operation and to make sure everyone gets a chance to try out a different type of .22LR. I'll also be piling some steel targets into the Dodge Earthf**ker as well as some other fun stuff to shoot at. We'll be instructing some new shooters, both older kids and some of the parents - so extra eyes and ears are needed (I have a few...)
So, since I'm coming down, you know there's also going to be a super special blogmeet for #1 blogdaughter, her [mumblety][mumble] birthday (I ain't tellin'. I suggest you don't ask). We're trying to pin down whether we'll take her out for dinner or perhaps a lunch the next day in [big nearby city]; further bulletins will follow. Who's interested in a NoVA/SoMD meetup in OC-friendly northern Virginia? I talked to Old NFO at the NRA convention; unfortunately he'll be out of town, but I know there's plenty of other folks in the area who might want to come dine with us to celebrate.

Hope she has a blast. Good parenting right there. Preparedness is a good thing.

This has possibilities! I have pellet and cartridge toys approriate to the event and instructors are available if this works out. We should be between 60 and 90 minutes away. Oh, I have .22LR available too.
