I'll let Ben tell you about this beauty:
This is my new Ruger Bearcat Shopkeer. It is a distributor exclusive from Lipsey's. I knew the minute I saw it on the Ruger website that if at all possible I had to have one. From the Birdshead grip to the 3" barrel it is one beautiful gun. I also like the fact that while not rare (you can find several listed on gunbroker and Lipseys is still selling them to dealers as they come available) it is uncommon. You know, that's one hell of a beautiful gun right there. At some point in the future, I think I may have to look for a Vaquero in .357 Magnum. Stainless. With really nice wood grips like walnut.
Curse you, Ben...
That is all.
(seriously, thanks for sending it in!)

I have the New Vaquero in stainless in .45 Colt and it is a beauty. I think it is the best value for a six shooter on the market. I like the proportions of the New Vaquero versus the Vaquero as well.
Incidentally, I always thought .357 was "too modern" a chambering for a single action army style sixgun. That is just me being silly, I know, but I think 44-40 or .45 Colt would be more suitable. But as a practical (that's funny, "practical") measure if you have an inventory of .357 Magnum ammo on hand, it is the perfect choice.
Jay: Take a look at Mr. Completely's latest post. You really need to fly to Reno next week! David N
I have a long barreled 44 vaq, blued, and someday I hope to trade into a shorter stainless model.
Recently had a new model stainless 357 come in the door, and boy oh boy was that a beautiful gun. The quality was astoundingly excellent.
And remember kids, no sane man needs more than ten vaqueros.
Oh, that IS a pretty piece.
Maybe Santa will...
What am I thinking? Santa still owes me a Python-- but that's still mighty sweet!
I put in an order for one of those
short Bearcats in late March.
So far, no word from Lipsey's.
I am impatient.
I hope Bobbi doesn't see that. She's got the wantsies for one badly enough as it is.
Anon I think Lipseys only sells to dealers. I got lucky I saw one on Gunbroker that was being sold from a shop about 100 miles from my house. It actually didn't get any bids so I contacted the store and went and picked it up.
