The Philadelphia 76ers unveil the world’s largest T-shirt cannon
Attending an NBA game is full of unique and overwhelming experiences, from noticing players not paying attention during timeouts to video-board interviews in which the team's cheerleaders discuss their favorite foods. One of the most popular bits of in-arena entertainment is the T-shirt toss, which finds mascots and hype-team members throwing or shooting very thin, oversized, sponsored T-shirts to rabid fans. It's a new tradition right up there with the Kiss Cam, giving away fast food for scoring milestones, and playing songs from "Watch the Throne" during possessions.
Just look at this monstrosity:

That is a high capacity assault T-shirt cannon right there. Specifically prohibited by law in Massachusetts, New York, and now Maryland and Colorado too... No honest NBA franchise needs to hurl more than 10 t-shirts at a time, right?
Or does the fact that it's a double barrel T-shirt cannon make it okay?

"New" tradition? Where has this turkey been? The Worcester Ice Cats were doing it 10-15 years ago - I have to assume that other teams did it too, although I admit, I have no data on that.
IIRC, they also gave away fries at area McDonalds the day after a win and did other promotions. I kind of liked them; they gave a small-town feel to the games. [queue "Cheap Seats" now...]
