Folks have noticed the lack of gun content here, and there's a reason for it: I'm getting paid at the day job to write about guns. While no one has specifically said I can't blog about guns/gear/etc., I've felt its in my best interest to remain as far from the shooting world as possible here in my personal blog. I've been turning it more towards cars, as I'm about as serious a motorhead as I am a gun nut.
In the coming weeks, though, there will be a return - of sorts. I've been told that I will be getting my own daily blog at Shooting Illustrated where I will be covering new guns, gear, accessories and all kinds of cool stuff . I'll get a link up as soon as everything is created, and I'll put it at the top of the sidebar to the right for gun-related content.
Now comes the hardest part - I need a name for this new blog. I'm thinking "The Daily Bayonet"...

I like "The Daily Bayonet," but I wonder if it might be a bit old-school for the crop of new gun owners who've joined the ranks in the past year. You and I know that a Mosin-Nagant bayonet is great for making shishkebab for the whole family, and that the M1 Garand is the greatest battle implement ever devised. But the new folks may not care, yet.
I think a name in keeping with the ideas of freedom, personal responsibility, and giggle-inducing muzzle flash would appeal to a broader audience. How about "The Snubbie from Hell"? (Or "Heck" if the boss wants to keep it a little more family friendly.)
Daily Flash in the Pan - light and noise that you hope has some effect and starts something.

The Daily Bayonet is already in use, not a bad read either.
How about "Fueled by Gas and Gunpowder", register the Site as gas-n-gunpowder.com

The Daily Bayonet was one of my favourite websites but unfortunately it's been on hiatus for almost two years. The site is still up so you would be stepping on the other fellows toes. You don't want to mess with a sol'jer in a pith helmet wielding a Martini-Henry, do you?

I re-iterate my suggestion of 'Va-ROOoomed'
-It's a play on the original name
-It indicates your new state of residence
-It bespeaks of your 'motorhead'-ness
-It is the sound you made escaping Tax-achusets.
How about something from your friends' quotes on the right side of the blog?
Something like
"This Blog is Life-sized, in 3-D, only more so"
