BLACKSBURG, Va. - When Fred McChesney heard about the Virginia Tech shooting spree on April 16, he was appalled. But what he did next has appalled many others. Within hours of the rampage, the Phoenix man began buying dozens of domain names _ CampusKillings.com, VirginiaTechMurders.com, SlaughterInVirginia.com _ in the hopes of selling them later to the highest bidder.I guess it's just par for the course that some vultures feel the need to profit from tragedy.
But then again, why should the Brady Bunch be the only ones to try to make money from the VA Tech killings?

I bet he also buys used chainsaws & rushes to hurricane alley after a storm & offers them up for $500 a pop to folks trying to get into what's left of their houses. Capitalism is one thing - capitalizing is another.
At least that would involve something more than sitting on his ass in front of a computer and being an asshole...
The most poetic justice would be if no one bought any of those domains from him and he was out $50 - $100 for nothing.
Fucker.
I guess good taste and pride come second place to a few bucks for some people.
You know, in this google-laden day and age, a domain name isn't what it used to be. For example, most folks who want to know about Curt Schilling go to google or some other search engine & type in his name and the first option will be his official web site (a blog) which is 38pitches.com. What would've normally been the obvious URL, curtschilling.com, is obviously owned by someone who bought it seeking to cash in. Well, they've wasted their money.
I'd be willing to bet $20 that the guy ended up wasting every penny & will either watch them wither on the vine or end up giving them to the first person who asks. I never just type in the logical assumption and put a dot-com at the end & I figure that few others do, either.
