Bet You Thought I Was Kidding...

...when I said I was ordering one of these...

Well, if you did think that, you thought wrong:

Heh. I predict this will see extensive wear. Might have to order a back-up just in case...

That is all.

Jay,
I knew you weren't kidding. Now you just need to wear the shirt with the same crazed look you sported during The Great July 2008 NH Teletubbie Bayonette Charge (tm).

Remember to keep one around handy for when your daughter starts dating; you'll want to be wearing it when the lad in question rings the doorbell.

Dude. Dude!
THAT is the face your daughter's would-be suitors need to see when they're in your driveway, honking the horn for her to come out...

That is EXACTLY the look I was aiming for!

Oh, BTW... Your birthday present is in. Obviously.

Let's get together (lunch!!??!?!) so's I can get it to ya...

Jay, I like your blog very much; I came over on Bob S. and Weer'd's recommendation. That t-shirt would work for me, too with sort-of a double irony attached to it. You see, I'm a bit of a pacifist and an anti-gun guy, but I have two young and beautiful daughters. I've come to agree with the sentiment expressed in the famous guns don't kill people expression, but I think its their excessive accessibility that's the problem. My anti-death penalty stance is based on the idea that the government should not be engaged in a moral contradiction like saying killing is wrong and then doing it themselves. Yet, I can understand perfectly well the personal and lethal response of an individual injured party.

Mike,

You sound pretty reasonable. We'll work on you yet. :)

I've known more than a few guys whose pacifist leanings underwent radical transformation upon becoming fathers.

Especially of little girls...

As for guns and their availability, well, I've expressed my sentiments on these pages (boiled down quick: Guns are neither good nor bad, but people are; as far as availability, well, unless we want the Army going door-to-door, there's little that can be done about that now...)

Suffice to say, I believe that if we focused more on the misuse of guns, as well as the societal norms and mores that result in lower appreciation of human life, we'd see a marked drop in violence of all stripes. No matter what tool may have been used.

the shirt is funny but it's your expression that is cracking me up.

When your girl starts dating remember to answer the door armed, wearing that shirt.

You will scare off all boys with bad intentions.
