Okay folks... New Year's Celebration starts now. Work just cut us loose (we're looking at the start of another 9-12" of snow here), and tomorrow is off (with only shoveling in the AM to worry about).
The kids are going to (try to) stay up tonight; I suspect that they'll be conked out by 9:30 - 10PM at the latest. We're going to let them play Wii games until they pass out from exhaustion...
Please, for the love of G-d, be careful out there tonight. There's going to be a lot of revelers out on the road who have no business being in command of an automobile, so if y'all can avoid being on the road, please do. Barring that, find a 1970s Cadillac to drive...
And, of course, be smart, safe, and have a great time!
That is all.

Heh. '70s Caddy. Loooong time ago just as I was about to start driving, my Dad was kind enough to call around and do some used car shopping with me so I could get a set of wheels. He found a used Lincoln Mark V for $600. Car = TANK. He wanted to buy it for me because it would protect his boy of course. I begged him not to. The thing took up a parking lot. Titanic on wheels with an engine larger than my bedroom. Five gallons to the mile - you get the idea.
I talked him into a tin can of a 79 Mustang. But it was a 'stang. HS Chick Magnet on Wheels.
Wrecked it 5 months later. GAR!
Happy New Year!
70's caddy? How 'bout a 1974 Olds Delta 88? Used to drive one of those land schooners. Was a tad bit underpowered with the rocket 350, but I could almost see the gas gauge move when peeling out. Fun car. Ah, the mammaries.
Happy New Year, Jay and family!
And my Grandma had a 70's Caddy. I was convinced that she could drive that thing through a brick wall without denting it.
1957 Desoto with all four fenders wrinkled... It's ALL steel :-) Seriously, we're doing a walking new years within our street, we'll all be in bed by 10 :-)
Happy New Year!
How come you get to leave early and I'm still stuck here.... (grumble..grumble)
Happy New Year Jay!
i'm staying in. Best friend coming over, a couple large rib eyes marinating, some Sam Adams and some old blues music to listen to. At midnight duck calls on the porch.
Hope you have a great one.
