NH's Liquor Enforcer Proposes 1-Drink-Per-Hour Law
MANCHESTER, N.H. (WBZ) ― There is a new bill proposed by New Hampshire's top liquor law enforcer that suggests a one-drink-per-hour limit at local restaurants and bars, according to a newspaper reports. SeacoastOnline.com reports the law is aimed at combating drunk driving.What did I say just yesterday? Oh, yeah, that the state views us as unruly children incapable of caring for ourselves that needed to be told what to do every moment of our day. And, less than 24 hours later, a gleaming example of this nanny-statism is dropped in our laps. In "Live Free or Die" New Hampshire, of all places. Guess they'd better think about changing that to "New Hampshire: You'll put your eye out" or "New Hampshire: Don't run with scissors" as the formerly free state looks ever more towards its neighbor to the south.
State Liquor Law Enforcement Chief Eddie Edwards suggests that bar and restaurant owners would only serve one drink per hour, four at a sitting. According to the paper, Edwards defines one drink as an ounce of spirits, 5 ounces of wine or 12 ounces of beer. "Here's the criteria - you can only consume so much alcohol," Edwards told the paper. "If I give you four, five drinks an hour, you should know that this makes someone intoxicated."
I'm waiting for (future) Congressman Bruce to introduce competing legislation mandating a swift kick in the 'nads to anyone introducing such vacuous and insipid regulations...

Next Step, Register your glass, and each drink can then be scanned vs the barcode on your glass, making sure that you don't get a drink from 2 different establishments in the same hour!
New Hampshire is live free or die.
I propose that if they pass said law, every New Hampshiran have two drinks in one hour and then go on a rampage with pitchforks and torches killing as many lawyers and politicians that they can until they "Die".
Then they'll have lived up to the state's motto, and helped return their state to a beautiful place.

Please don't tell the California legislators about this. They already view their citizens as ignorant 6 year olds who need to be protected from themselves. I just found your blog and I like it very much!
Be it enacted that in the event that this aforementioned jack-assery become law in New Hampshire then future Northeast blogger gatherings be moved to my fair state.

The bill being proposed is not the "one drink and hour" bill. That horseshit is what some bureaucrat wants as an alternative to the bill that seeks to change some of the wording in the existing law about serving drunk customers in bars.
I believe WBZ has it wrong in their opening paragraph.
I haven't got into the details of the bill, but I will before the senate committee hearing next month.
Good to see "reasonable regulations" pissing off, at least potentially, non-gun owners too.
