Yes, that is exactly what it looks like - a bayonet that attachs to the equipment rail on a handgun. Talk about something that's as useless as tits on a bull... That thing barely looks like it could skewer a Teletubby, let alone a Pokemon...
And yes, I did buy one...
That is all.

Heh, I was checking those out at the funshow last weekend. It looks like a useless solution to a problem that doesnt exist - and by that I mean it looks cool.
But where are ya gonna find leather to fit it ?
You have anything with a rail?
That's the only reason why I don't have one in my armory.
Wally,
" It looks like a useless solution to a problem that doesnt exist - and by that I mean it looks cool."
Heh. Exactly.
As for leather, well, I guess I'm just going to have to work something up, won't I? :)
Weer'd,
SW99 full size. Will have to bring it to the next shoot once I've got the bayo for it... Think the next bayo charge will just HAVE to be with the pistola...
Well, it would definitely end any worries about an attacker grabbing your pistol and taking it away from you ...
Jay, I believe you've seen this before.

You even commented on the post.
Yeah, well Mike, when you get to be my age, you start forgetting things...
reminds me of the time a couple of GIs with too much time on their hands (and a warped sense of humor) took a couple of hose clamps and fabricated a bayonet mount -- for the main gun of their M1 tank. Not useful. But very cool, anyway.
Overheard Chez Borepatch:
Mrs. Borepatch: Is that a knife on that pistol?
Me: This is Jay's blog. Bayonet.
Made her LOL, that did.
I think I might need to get one of those for the CX4...
Just don't try an IWB holster, or worse, Mexican carry (shoved into your pants).
Mexican carry of this rig would most likely result in said carrier winning a Darwin Award...
Now, this isn't up my alley. However, if it was a switchblade or other such design, maybe to be activated via a switch or pressure area like a laser, then maybe I'd be into it. I mean, now when you holster/unholster, there's the chance of a round going off, with a fixed blade, you run the risk of slicing off a piece of ham.
Also, when will someone invent a dremel tool attachment for a rail? Then we can work on guns, WITH guns! Which also result in a Darwin Award when someone forgets to unload both guns and gets into a firefight with him/herself.
I was watching CSI NY last night and the murder weapon was a luger with a bayonet attached.
They must read this blog. =)
