Franken 'thrilled' after court declares his Senate victory
Democrat Al Franken said Tuesday evening he is "thrilled and humbled" the Minnesota Supreme Court ruled him the winner of a contentious Senate race that played out in court over several months.
"We are so thrilled we can finally celebrate this victory and I'm so excited to
finally be able to get to work for the people of Minnesota," Franken said at a press conference. "We have a lot of work to do in Washington, but that's why I signed up for the job in the first place."
The court's unanimous, unsigned opinion declared Franken -- a long-time Democrat, former "Saturday Night Live" comedian and satirist -- "received the highest number of votes legally cast" and is entitled "to receive the certificate of election as United States senator from the state of Minnesota."
Note to rabid leftists: I do not ever, ever want to hear another word about how Bush "stole" the 2000 election. Ever.
Note to Democrats: You own this. Lock, stock, and barrel. Control of the White House. Control of Congress. Bulletproof control of the Senate. Whatever happens from here on in, it's yours. No more "it's Bush's fault"; that tired excuse ends today. I hope for all our sake, for the sake of this great nation, that things go right, that you make the proper choices that help America get back on track and stay #1.
But I fear the temptation to give into your socialist leanings will be too great; that the allure of the ultimate nanny state will temper your choices.
That is all.

Yup. Isn't it funny how, ever since Florida 2K, every single time there's an election close enough to force a recount, the Democrat wins?

Trust not to hope. It has forsaken these lands.
Did you read the reported poll results indicating the Minnesota residents can't remember who they voted for?
Disclosure: I live in MN, but I know who I voted for.
Not just the 200 election, I don't want to hear about any 'mean' or 'mean spirited' Republican or talker, EVER. No more "did you hear what Limbaugh said today?" segments on MSNBC, no more links to media matters for out-of-context presentations & falsehoods, nothing.
One of the biggest a-holes in America is now a US Senator, which means the left can no longer complain about someone else's demeanor; it's too much like Wilt Chamberlain complaining about promiscuity.
Oh, and Minnesota is now dead to me. Sorry, anonymous, when that many people vote for an anus, it means that the population at large is in need of some introspection. I won't even own a Twin on my fantasy baseball team from here on out. Dead.
I'm not a rabid leftist and I do not support the other side either but the 2000 election was stolen and lot's of money was made by the oil boys and other big business Bush supporters.
In modern American politics all you have to do is follow the money, it's been this way since the military industrial complex Eisenhower warned of staged the coup in 1963.
Today we have one facet or another of Big Business running things. Deals like the Minnesota senate race and all that other crap are the left hand (the one we are watching) while the right hand is in Our pocket.
Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.

go back to your mother's basement. Even the rabid liberal press admitted (after about six months of trying to fix the numbers) that Florida went for Bush. And don't even think about trying to pull the "black-voters-not-allowed-to-vote BS.
