Northeast Blogger Shoot, Summer Edition Update: ARMS RACE!!!

Okay folks, this is it. We've got less than a week to the big event. It's time to start the fun part: Laying out the ordnance we'll be lugging out to the shoot!

Here's what will be coming from the G. armory:

Long arms:

Bushmaster XM15-E2S (5.56X45mm/.223 Rem) semi-auto
VEPR (.308 Win) semi-auto
Mossberg 590 (12 gauge, with bayonet) pump action
Remington 511 (.22LR) scoped bolt action
Marlin 39A (.22LR) lever action

Handguns:

Smith & Wesson SW99 (.40 S&W, with bayonet) semi-auto
Browning Hi-Power (9mm) semi-auto
Colt Gold Cup National Match (.45 ACP) semi-auto
Colt New Frontier (.22LR) single action revolver
Ruger Security Six (.357 Magnum) double action revolver

Sufficient levels of ammunition for all firearms, plus extra ammunition for others (Borepatch,Lissa, etc.).

Is there anything else in the G. armory anyone would like to try out? The above is about my limit for what I'm willing to lug/clean, but substitutions can be made or an extra gun or two added to the mix if someone really wants to try something out.

So... What are y'all planning to bring?

I would recommend bringing a box or two extra of factory 9mm ammo at the least and probably some .223 Rem as well. There's a definite chance of full-auto goodness at this year's shoot...

That is all.

PS: Anyone who needs directions to the sooper-seekrit range please let me know...

I am thinking I'll bring the FiveSeveN, the Sig 550 and a couple of others, probably my new Baby Eagle, too. Shall I bring something cold, for the apres shoot?

Can I shoot the shotgun, Jay? Can I, can I please?? :)

JD, I'll send out a mass mailing (ha! no pun intended) this evening.

libertyman,

I'd be interested in trying the FiveSeveN, actually.

As for after, well, as long as you bring enough for everyone... :)

Last year we were all pretty wiped out by about 4, but I have a feeling if you wanted to have a frosty one or two while cleaning up that'd be fine...

Lissa,

You got it. This one's even more evil than the one you shot last year - it haz bayonetz...

:)

Just bringing the Kahr and likely the Buckmark (now with cheap-ass Red Dot!). Possibly the SKS because she's my baby.

I'm honestly more excited about another chance to hang with you fine folk than I am all the shooty stuff ... except for one of the "targets" I'm bringing. Heh.

And yes ... I'll second the need for directions!

Jay,
I've never had the chance to shoot a CZ52 - if you want to lug it along perhaps ?

I'll be bringing down at least the following:
Full size glock 31 in 357
Sig 239 in 357
Ruger Mk 2
Maybe a 1911 in .38super?

And, I'll plan on bringing some silenced full autos too. I've got limited ammo that will be available but anyone is welcome to BYO factory 223 or 9mm. 147 or 158grain preferred for 9mm.

Silenced full autos???

Yeah, I'll bring the CZ-52... ;)

I'll be bringing along the,
S&W 5906 9mm with 14 round mags
S&W 6906 9mm with 12 round mags
S&W Mdl 10, just not sure which one.
S&W Mdl 18 .22lr
S&W Mdl 334 .22lr snub nose

If anyone wants to bring some .22 for the revolvers, I only request that it be plated or copper washed at the least. Both guns hate lead rounds and the barrels lead up very quickly and are a pain in the ass to clean.

SMLE No1 MkIII with lonnnnnng bayonet. That's in .303 British is anyone wants to bring some along.

Ruger 10/22 Gotta have one at every shoot, it's the law.

Savage 69RXL 12 gauge

Maybe the Marlin 339A Lever Action in 30-30.

If anyone wants to fire the Schmidt Rubin or Mosin Nagant, I can swap those out for the Marlin or the shotgun.

I'll also bring along some extra 9mm and 22LR.

I was gonna bring my CZ-52 if so we can spare the room.

Also Jay, I wanna shoot that damn snubbie of yours!

I'll be bringing:
Ruger Mk3 space blaster
Mk3 Browning Hi-Power
SW1911PD Gunsite Edition
M&P 9mm Compact with Greg Derr trigger job
Smith 442

Ruger 10/22 "Liberty Training Rifle"
Springfield M1 Garand
IBM M1 Carbine
Mossberg 500

I'll second Weer'd's request for the SnubbieFromHell; I'd like to compare it to my 442. If anyone has a Ruger LCR or SP101 to complete the snubby shootout, that'd be even more awesome.

Long(ish):
DPMS DCM AR - .223
Savage MkII BTVS - .22LR
HiPoint 995 - 9mm
Remington 870 - 12ga
Savage 93R17GV - .17HMR (maybe)

Pistols:
Springfield 1911A1 GI - .45ACP
S&W 28-2 - .357
S&W 21-4 - .44Spl
Ruger 22/45 - .22LR
S&W 647 - .17HMR

I'll bring some ammo for anyone interested in each, but if anyone has a burning desire to go hog-wild, they should bring some factory stuff in appropriate calibers. :)

Yes Please on the Savage. I've wanted to try something in 17HMR. Savage and CZ are on the shortlist.

I think I'll bring the Ruger Alaskan for the muzzle blast contest, and my little Mossy 590. Have to hit Riley's for some more ammo!

Add me to the directions needed list.
Still haven't finalized the bringing list (ok, really its the how much do I want to clean after list), but most likely:
M1 Garand
M1 carbine
10/22 of course
Schmidt Rubin K31
Mosin Nagant M44
SKS
Marlin 1894 lever in 44mag
At least one shottie (probably mossberg 500/Remington 1100/browning BT-99)
Keltec P32
beretta 92 inox
maybe beretta 84 (damn 380 ammo is still scarce!)
glock 36 for weer'd to check out
1 or 2 CZ52s since everyone seems to wanna check them out
S&W 442
Maybe the NAA mini for shits and giggles or a full size .22 revolver
All subject to whims and change and total number of transport cases I can dig up!
Also have a full case of biodegradable clays (they dont break as nice, but they ARE biodegradable) and a hand thrower. And a .22 spinner.

Oh and last, if anyone has any advice pro/con taking the dreaded Mass Pike on a sunday.... I'm thinking the way up (from CT) will be ok, but heading home might suck?

- Ruger 10/22
- Henry lever-action .22 (Don't tell my wife. It's her gun.)
- Ruger P345
- Ruger LCP

I'm going to keep my eyes open for more .380 so as to share the LCP love.

Bringing 100 rounds of 9mm for subgunny goodness.
