And Another Thing...

Riddle me this:

All you people that like to equate that shithead Fred Phelps* with the Republicans/right wing/conservatives... Please explain why he and his retarded group of jackoffs were nowhere to be found anywhere near the Kennedy compound throughout the past week.

I mean, if there's anyone that Phelps should be protesting, it's pro-abortion, pro-gay rights Ted Kennedy's passing, right?

Especially when you consider the amount of media attention that Kennedy's passing received, this should have been the holy fucking grail for that scum-sucking piece of sub-human filth. Yet he was nowhere to be found. Hell, he didn't even issue a damn press release on Kennedy's death...

That is all.

*I steadfastly refuse to link to that piece of shit's website...

If you're trying to suggest that Phelps is too loyal to the Democrats to pick on Ted Kennedy, I don't think we can say that honestly. He's a Democrat, or was (a lot of people don't remember now that Al Gore loved Phelps and his church early in his national career, because he was a fire-and-brimstone southern by-gawd Democrat back then) but Phelps has no loyalty to anyone as far as I can tell. He has only one mission, which is to get attention for his family cult and try to grow it somehow. He would turn on absolutely anyone.
My guess is that the Phelps cult wasn't prepared to move on short notice when Kennedy passed . . . or it just never occurred to them.

In other words, I don't think you can refute accusations that Republicans secretly like Phelps by saying that Democrats secretly like Phelps. If there were all that many people on Phelps' side in either party, he'd have more than a clapboard compound full of his own extended family for a "church."

Don,

I'm just tossing it out there because whenever this nutjob shows up, there's plenty of folks who are awfully quick to call him right wing...

And you hit on my main point:

"He has only one mission, which is to get attention for his family cult and try to grow it somehow. He would turn on absolutely anyone."

What could possibly get more attention than protesting at Kennedy's funeral?

As for this:

"My guess is that the Phelps cult wasn't prepared to move on short notice when Kennedy passed . . . or it just never occurred to them."

Kennedy was diagnosed with brain cancer in May 2008. They've had plenty of time to plan.

Now, granted, these don't seem like the brightest bulbs on the Christmas tree and all, so this may be a case of "never ascribe to malice that which can be attributed to stupidity"...

Yeah the republicans are weighed down by enough nutcases without adding phelps to the lot(Ann Coulter anyone? Rush Limbaugh? Both the George Bushes? And so on).

Of course, with so large a nation and only two parties, there's plenty of nutcases to go around for both.
