As I was changing out one of the many homemade CDs I keep in the truck for the ride to work, something struck me as interesting. Even though each CD had songs that I personally chose from my own collection of music, each CD had a handful of songs that I would invariably skip over. I liked these songs good enough to buy the album, then rip it to my computer, then burn it onto a CD with other songs, yet I'd skip over them like the "B" side of a 45...
So, naturally, I thought about it. There's generally about 20 or so songs that'll fit on a blank CD, give or take a few. What would the "Ultimate Jay G CD" contain for music? What 20 songs could I put on a CD that I could listen to over and over again without skipping a single one? Well, here goes:
1. "Thunderstruck", AC/DC
2. "Move It On Over", George Thorogood and the Delaware Destroyers
3. "Unchained", Van Halen
4. "Seek and Destroy", Metallica
5. "Rock 'n' Roll High School", The Ramones
6. "Magic Carpet Ride", Steppenwolf
7. "Soul Man", The Blues Brothers
8. "Come Dancing", The Kinks
9. "Industrial Disease", Dire Straits
10. "Cocaine", Eric Clapton
11. "Run to the Hills", Iron Maiden
12. "Hair of the Dog", Nazareth
13. "Living in America", James Brown
14. "You've Got Another Thing Coming", Judas Priest
15. "Hold On, I'm Comin'", Sam & Dave
16. "La Grange", ZZ Top
17. "What'd I Say", Ray Charles
18. "Over the Eggshells", Mighty Mighty Bosstones
19. "Kickstart My Heart", Motley Crue
20. "Land of 1,000 Dances", Wilson Pickett
What's on your CD?
That is all.

Meme time! Excellent!
Ooooh toughie. Dunno about the order, trying not to clash too hard, while not clumping too bad, but sometimes there's not much choice. Also, many choices are interchangable with others and I stoped myself from repeating the same artists...(with one exception, a singer who appears in two bands)
1: Nothing Else Matters - Metallica
2: Under the Waves - Allen/Lande
3: Rise - Disturbed
4: Metal Monster - Bloodbound
5: Other Side - Red Hot Chilli Peppers
6: Poison - Alice Cooper
7: Bring Me to Life - Evanescence
8: Ever Dream . Nightwish
9: Animal - WASP
10: Kiss of Death - Lynch Mob (Bokken cover)
11: For Every Tear That Falls - Evergrey
12: Overcome - Live
13: Enjoy the Silence - Depeche Mode
14: Still Waters Run Deep - 69 Eyes
15: As You Die - Takida
16: When I'm Gone - 3 Doors Down
17: Bad Medicine - Jon Bon Jovi
18: Fear of the Dark(live*) - Iron Maiden
19: It's the Fear - Within Temptation**
20: Truly Madly Deeply - Savage Garden***
*From best of the beast album. IMO the definitive version.
** Yeah I know, two similar theme songs in a row.
*** Ending it on an obligatory lovesong.
Actually somehow missed adding the double singer exception... uhm, replace Kiss of Death with:
10: No Mercy - Tad Morose
Borepatch (and any others interested) - feel free to meme-ify!
Nice list Mikael! Yeah, I tried really hard to keep it to one entry per band/singer. Otherwise I could have done a whole list of AC/DC...

2. Bittersweet Symphony - - Verve
3. Hocus Pocus - - Focus
4. Popcorn - - Hot Butter
5. One Winter's Night - - Strength In Numbers
7. Five In The Morning - - Lucy Kaplansky
8. Willie - - Cat Power
9. April the 14th, Pt. 1 - - Gillian Welch
10. Farewell, Farewell - - Sandy Denny
11. Broke Down - - Slaid Cleaves
12. Childish Things - - James McMurtry
13. Mercy Now - - Mary Gauthier
14. Carefree Highway - - Gordon Lightfoot
15. Walk Don't Run - - The Ventures
16. Accidentally Like A Martyr - - Warren Zevon
17. Lord, I Hope This Day Is Good - - Don Williams
18. Tuesday Afternoon - - Moody Blues
19. Trouble In Mind - - Lightnin' Hopkins
20. Happy - - Rolling Stones
1. Dancing Queen - Abba
2. Close to You - The Carpenters
3. The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins -Leonard Nimoy
4. Bjork's Greatest Hits
5. ANything by Slim Whitman or Boxcar Willie

My double is Metal Monster - Bloodbound and No Mercy - Tad Morose, both with the singer Urban Breed(actual given name). The former is what's known as classic heavy metal, or true metal, with heavy Iron Maiden influenses, the latter is some dark and heavy progressive metal(could be said to be similar to WASP).
But I could just as easily have added something else I suppose... like oh say Lust for Life - Heavenly.
PS: I could probably done a whole list of Iron Maiden, or WASP, or Metallica, or Nightwish, or Evergrey, etc.
Thanks to the "play count" option on my Ipod, I easily know which songs I keep on the virtual rotation. No freaking way I can keep it to one song per performer:
1. "Find the Real" - Alter Bridge
2. "Spoonman" - Soundgarden
3. "Rise Today" - Alter Bridge
4. "Future in the past" - Chickenfoot
5. "Don't tell me (what love can do)" - Van Halen
6. "Comfortably numb" - Extreme
7. "Metalingus" - Alter Bridge
8. "It was a very good year" - Frank Sinatra
9. "Love in an elevator" - Aerosmith
10. "Agnus Dei" - Third Day
11. "Drop dead legs" - Van Halen
12. "Vasoline" - Stone Temple Pilots
13. "Luck be a lady" - Frank Sinatra
14. "Cochise" - Audioslave
15. "Sympathy for the devil" - Rolling Stones
16. "Kashmir" - Led Zeppelin
17. "Backseat of a greyhound bus" - Sara Evans
18. "Wanted dead or alive" - Bon Jovi
19. "Ain't that a kick in the head" - Dean Martin
20. "Sweet emotion" - Aerosmith
