Serenity NOW!
Chatting in the Gunblogger Conspiracy one afternoon, Linoge asked if there was anyone who hadn't seen the series yet. I volunteered that I hadn't, and he asked if I was interested in the DVDs. I've been meaning to watch the series, as it comes highly rated by a lot of folks whose opinions I respect, so I jumped at the chance.
Thanks Linoge!!!
That is all.

You'll not regret viewing this series... excellent!
LUCKY LUCKY MAN!!!!!
I LOVE that series....
Shiny!
Very shiny.
I'd heard about it from several bloggers, but I do not watch TV, so I ignored it. After the wreck in '08, I kept the tube running for background noise, & occasionally got interested in something. One day I ran across...Shindig. I promptly ordered the series. Then I ordered "Serenity".
Got my new wife hooked on it, too.
Enjoy, Jay!
I'm about to wear mine out, they come with me on every trip. Makes me so mad that Fox screwed the pooch with the series when they came out. Could have been one the best out there, at least we get to see Nathan Fillion on the ABC series "Castle".
Watch them in ORDER!!!!
And by that, I mean in Disc order. On the cover, the original air-date of each episode is also listed. That's the order that Fox played them in.
DON'T WATCH THEM IN THAT ORDER!!!
Seriously, the whole thing makes a lot more sense if you watch it in the order that Joss Whedon (PBUH) intended.
Oh, and unless you've already seen it, don't watch Serenity (the feature film) until after you've seen the series.
That my name here is bluesun should tell you something about how I like it.
I think I have made about 12 other people into fans and sold about 3 other box sets in doing so.
Great stuff. Every episode is a gem.
No worries - as you can see, it was still in its wrapper, collecting dust on my shelf. Enjoy it, but please do so in the order in which they were meant to be seen - Fox intentionally aired them out-of-sequence, which, no doubt, assisted in the show's demise.
"Fox intentionally aired them out-of-sequence, which, no doubt, assisted in the show's demise."
That, along with the fact that it was constantly preempted or moved due to basketball games, so that no one really knew when or even if it would be on.
What Fox did to Firefly made Joss Whedon swear to never work with Fox again. I think the only reason he did Dollhouse was because he was asked by Eliza Dushku - she is a friend of his, and she had a deal with Fox where they would create projects just for her - and because fox was under new management.
But, like everyone says, watch them in the order they were supposed to be aired, and you'll enjoy it.
I got the series about a month ago for about $10.
Thankfully, I haven't started watching them yet... I was going to watch them in the order of airing.
/Hmm, is there a reason all gun nuts like this series?
//Must be Summer Glau.
Shiny!
I got hooked on Firefly two years back. Ran through all the series in chronological order through netflix but would still like the set to have. Picked up Serenity last Christmas. You'll love the series.
And we welcome the addition of a new Browncoat!
