Kill coyotes like a governor
AUSTIN, Texas - Texas Gov. Rick Perry's showdown on the jogging trail has spurred a gun maker to sell a "Coyote Special" edition of the weapon he used to take down the varmint. Perry himself has one of the pistols.The governor shot the coyote that he said was threatening his daughter's puppy with a Ruger .380-caliber pistol. Manufacturer Sturm, Ruger & Co. Inc. has now come out with a version emblazoned with "Coyote Special" and "A True Texan" on the sides.
I dunno if I'd be bragging about my state being associated with .380 ACP, but heck, it did the job, right?

Now that's the real America for ya!
If he shot and killed a coyote with a.380 pistol, he could be bragging about shot placement under pressure.
And, of course, .380 is right there on the list of calibers I don't want to be shot with (along with all the others).

ASM826, over the years I've treated a couple of hundred people who have been shot. Not a one of them has said that it wasn't so bad because the caliber didn't have good stopping power. Actually all of the (well those that weren't dead and could still talk) said it hurt like hell.
You're in good company not wanting to get shot, I don't recommend it even a little bit.
Ever since Bill Ruger went away, Ruger awesomeness has only grown.

The comment was merely because it was in ZOMG TEXAS, where *everything* is bigger and better. You'd think Perry would have a .45 at least... ;)
I won't even volunteer to be shot with a .22LR, so I'm right there with you...

Since it was Texas, you'da thought he'd been using at least a .46, outdoing all the rest of us with our .45s.
Yeah, but since he's a Texan, he didn't need a .45
While the .45 is the official caliber of Texas, we do allow others. We just don't talk about them much because we don't want to hurt their feelings.

The coyote was threatening the puppy with a Ruger pistol? That's odd. I thought the Coyote procured all his weapons from Acme.
