...to run this guy outta town on:

Police say Souhegan teacher stole student calculators, sold them on eBay
AMHERST – A 50-year-old Souhegan High School math teacher was arrested Tuesday and charged with stealing calculators from his students and selling them on eBay.

Randy Floyd of 169B Amherst Road in Merrimack has been placed on "indefinite administrative leave," according to a news release by SAU 39 Superintendent Mary Jennings, after being arrested for theft.

I'm trying to figure out how exactly he stole the calculators without the kids figuring it out. I'm guessing it's one of those "left behind in class" things - my kids are always forgetting something at school - but still, I can't imagine that so many kids would leave $100+ calculators behind as to make it worth the risk.

There is one bright side to this story:
Ironically, Floyd may have been responsible for turning the attention of School Resource Officer John Smith on himself. According to the affidavit from Smith, In February, Floyd reportedly sent an anonymous e-mail to the superintendent alleging that a teacher in the school district was using a false address so that her child could attend Souhegan. The e-mail, from asailor127@aol.com, was turned over to Smith so that the officer who is stationed at the high school could investigate.

Smith did a search online for asailor127@aol.com and discovered an eBay account under the same name. He went onto the online auction site and discovered that the owner was selling the TI-83 calculators, which are used in high-level math classes.

YOU. STUPID. FUCK. You used the same anonymous e-mail address to dime out a parent that you used for eBay to sell stolen goods.

The scariest thing is that this dim bulb is a math teacher - doesn't say much for smarts...

That is all.

Also, doesn't an AOL address require paying AOL money? Addresses with billing records aren't exactly anonymous.

....Thinking back to my HS math teachers, as I recall, most seemed to be just barely 1 chapter ahead in the text book.....never mind that it was the umpteenth time the've taught the class.

As LawDog would say -- if criminals were smart, he'd be out of a job.

Smarts does NOT equal common sense... Having said that, I'd hang that sucker from the highest tree. Stealing from the kids is beyond the pale...

Obviously, this teacher isn't as well educated as the crybaby that Gov. Cristie spanked. Souhegan is veddy proud of its progreessive curriculum and policies. Apparently they don't bother with those right wing criminal record checks.

FYI: TI sells these to schools for classroom use. Usually the schools get them with yellow faceplates stamped "School Property" (or something like that). So, it wouldn't be uncommon for the teacher to have a few dozen of these locked up in a cabinet at any given time.
