An 80-year-old Chicago man shot and killed an armed man who broke into his two-story house in a pre-dawn home invasion Wednesday on the city's West Side.Eighty years old. Walks with a cane. Lives with his wife of same age. The man who attacked them was armed with a firearm and showed no hesitation in attacking a man and woman fifty years his senior. What chance would they have stood had they not had their own gun? We'd be reading about the double homicide in Chicago right now, that's for damned sure, rather than cheering the addition of yet another dead goblin.
At about 5:20 a.m., the homeowner and his wife, also in her 80s, discovered the intruder entering their home through a back door. The homeowner, who had a gun, confronted and killed the burglar on the doorstep, police said. Cops said the intruder also fired his gun during the struggle.
Gun control: Because two octogenarians brutally murdered in their own home by a feral thug is morally superior to a feral thug bleeding out on the back porch.

No charges have been filed against the homeowner, but Chicago currently has a statute outlawing the possession of handguns. Its legality is currently being decided by the U.S. Supreme Court.
A high-profile Chicago attorney has already stepped forward offering to represent the man pro bono if he faces charges for possessing a weapon.
"Self-defense isn't just a right, it's a duty," said attorney Joel Brodsky. "If this man is prosecuted for saving his own life it's not just a travesty, it's justice turned inside out."
I can't wait to see what brilliant remark Mayor Daley has on this one.

We wouldn't have read about a double homicide in Chicago this morning.
What's another double homicide there? It might have been a footnote to another story but probably not.
Wonder if Daley will threaten to stick something up somebodies butt again ?
Veeshir beat me to it. A double homicide in Chicago probably barely makes the *local* news.
But he was such a good boy, and the shooter should have just wounded him! That evil gun killed him for no reason. He wasn't hurting nobody. He always took good care of his kids and baby mamas!
Seriously, that gentleman should not only not be prosecuted, he should be given the key to the city for adding a bit of chlorine to the gene pool.
God bless that 80 year old gentleman. I hope he put every round he had in the scum bag. If they take his gun I'll glady replace it for him.

It actually would have likely been a triple homicide as the couple's 12 year great-grandson was sleeping there that night. While I am happy for the gentleman that he is not being charged for having the gun, part of me would like to see the firestorm which would have hit city hall if he had been.
Given the gentleman's age, I wonder if he brought that pistol back from the Yalu.
