Neat!

NASA Wants To Put Your Face In Space
HOUSTON (AP) ―Always wanted to fly in space? Now at least your photo can reach orbit.

NASA is inviting the public to send their portrait into space aboard one of the two remaining space shuttle flights. To participate, upload your picture to a NASA website.

You can select which space shuttle to fly -- Discovery in September or Endeavor, targeted for November. You can also just fly your name, without a photo.

Interesting. I'll have to look through the photos of TheBoy and BabyGirl G. to see if there's something suitable to upload - it'd be kinda cool to download the certificate showing that their picture has gone into space... It's just this kind of oddball, off-the-beaten-path kind of thing that kids remember - for example, our entire 50 some-odd hours in the car on the way down to and home from Florida, the only thing they remember is the hour and a half we spent at South of the Border in South Carolina. Not being allowed to stay up past midnight, not staying at a hotel with an indoor pool and a hot tub, just the little tourist trap where we had lunch and bought souvenirs...

Hmmm. Maybe I'll upload one of the photos on the blog and be the first "Gunblogger in Spaaaaaace"... *g*

That is all.

Do it now, before Obama kills NASA. Otherwise you'll have to buy a Cyrillic Keyboard just to do this with the OTHER guys.

There's NO WAY I'm putting my face in outer space.

Cuz when the space aliens find it, their just gonna assume it's a picture of whats on the menu!!!

Ain't you never heard of face eating aliens?

WV = chibelen

A piquant sauce that space aliens put on your face.

Putting Jay's face in orbit is just a little bit like putting a sign up beside your mailbox at the end of the driveway....

In this case, a sign that kinda says, "Hope you're not here to start trouble - because you're in range" to any face eating aliens.

By the way, what caliber for face eating aliens? Any preferences?
