OMFG...

Just when you thought the media could not possibly be further in the tank for Øbama; just when you thought they might have actually hit rock bottom... They grab some dynamite, blast new holes, and continue digging.

Language guru: Obama speech too 'professorial' for his target audience
(CNN) -- President Obama's speech on the gulf oil disaster may have gone over the heads of many in his audience, according to an analysis of the 18-minute talk released Wednesday.

Tuesday night's speech from the Oval Office of the White House was written to a 9.8 grade level, said Paul J.J. Payack, president of Global Language Monitor. The Austin, Texas-based company analyzes and catalogues trends in word usage and word choice and their impact on culture.

Though the president used slightly less than four sentences per paragraph, his 19.8 words per sentence "added some difficulty for his target audience," Payack said.

Right. See, that Øbama's just too durn smart for us cousin-humpin' rednecks in flyover country. He uses them big fancy words that we don't understand, and that's why we didn't fall to our feet to fellate him for his heroic actions in the BP disaster. It couldn't POSSIBLY be that he used his speech as a springboard for pushing his tired old watermelon policies, could it (you know, green on the outside, red on the inside)? It couldn't be that he didn't have anything useful to say - it's that we're too stupid to understand him.

I'm starting to think that my good friend Borepatch might just be right. November is going to be an interesting, interesting time for both parties - it's going to be race to see if the Democrats can actively alienate more of their base, or of the GOP can stumble any harder than they already have. One thing's for certain, though - with idiotic puff pieces like this one from CNN, the media's still circling the bottom of the tank they're in for Øbama.

Objectivity: They don't haz it.

That is all.

Let me see if I understand the good professor: He was too smart to make himself understood.

Riiiight.

you've got to fucking shitting me...

Does this mean the Olberdouche, Chrissy Matthews, and all the others moonbats that skewered him on the speech aren't bright enough?

WTF is right....

Borepatch,

I was kinda scratching my head at that contradiction, too.

Øbama is supposed to be this brilliant orator, isn't he? I mean, certainly better than the fumble-tongued chimp he replaced, right? That's what they keep telling us.

So why, praytell, would he give a speech too cerebral for us proles? Shouldn't he, in his Teleprompter Jesus omniscience, have known the speech was too verbose and dumbed it down for the troglodytes?

PISSED,

See, that's the beauty of this discovery. If you didn't like the speech, well, you must be one of the knuckle-dragging mouthbreathers that's too stupid to comprehend it...

I think it's maybe because the rest of us don't speak bullshit. How hard is it really to say "I haven't done jack."?

Maybe I didn't like the speech because he was insulting my intelligence by trying to push a cap and tax/energy agenda rather than by actually trying to be part of the solution and not part of the problem.

Could it possibly be that everyone tuned out? I listen to the man and my mind wanders, so that I hear something like "Let me be clear... BLAH, BLAH, I inherited these problems, BLAH BLAH, lax governmental oversight... BLAH, BLAH"

That is every one of his speeches in condensed form.
