Robbers pick wrong target; two shot, one killed by gun-toting victim
Thought#1: That will go down as a "child killed by gun violence" in the Brady checklist. Rage. Two would-be robbers forgot to ask their victim a key question: Do you have a gun and know how to use it?
The 21-year-old Bartlett man's answer might have prevented the two 16-year-olds from being shot. Instead, an exchange of gunfire between the Bartlett man and the robbers Wednesday night left one teenager dead and the other wounded.
Thought#2:
The man, who works for a local gun range, declined comment Friday.Victim selection FAIL.
Dead Goblin Count: 50.
That is all.

Don't discount the fact that the Brady types will try to spin the shooter as a "Crazed, Right-Wing gun nut who was so obsessed with firearms that he (Shudder!) actually WORKED at a GUN RANGE!", or some such manure.
There's a few things to think about buried in that story.
The victim works at a gun range and presumably gets more range time in then most of us.
The 2 robbers were shot at a range of 3ft and 10ft.
The victim fired 5 shots, and only 4 connected. And only one goblin died, the other had non-life threatening injuries.
Even someone with presumably a fair amount of range training was not able to effectively hit both targets under stress.
Victim selection FAIL.
Well, I've got nothing to add here. That's just damn funny.

Les,
Discount? Hell, I expect it...
Mopar,
That's an EXCELLENT point, one I wish I'd made myself.
Even the best of us under the best of circumstances can't fully train for what might happen IRL...
Tweaker,
Thanks. I please to aim...
