Police are investigating a home invasion early Monday morning that resulted in an exchange of gunfire between the homeowner and a suspect.At the time, it didn't make the count. But then... The story has a happy ending:
The suspect, a black male in his late teens, was shot at least once in the head and was in serious condition at University Hospital, said Officer Carey Klain, a Louisville Metro Police spokeswoman.
Teenage suspect in home invasion dies
A teenager who was involved in an attempted home invasion early Monday died Friday from a gunshot wound, a deputy coroner said.Consider it an occupational hazard.
Jerry Lester, 17, of the 1700 block of Dumesnil Street, died shortly before noon Friday, said Gayle Norris, a Jefferson County deputy coroner.
Lester was a suspect in an attempted home invasion early Monday in the 900 block of Marshall Street, said Alicia Smiley, a Louisville Metro Police spokeswoman.
