Bloggershoot Roundup...

I had a blast yesterday at the Third Annual Northeast Bloggershoot. It seems like other folks did, too - here they are in their own words:

• Lissa got to have the quote of the day: "he bad part is that I didn’t get nearly as many quotes this year as I did last year. The good part is . . . it’s because I was busy SHOOTING GUNS! And some of them BELONGED TO ME!!"
• Borepatch details the carnage wrought upon a poor "Hello Kitty" stuffed plush. Not every Hello Kitty can be a Kalashnakitty. He also makes note of the largest bayonet charge to date - four people!
• Zercool has one of the most concise wrap-ups I've seen: "Get up, catch up with Dragon, have breakfast, head to the range, unload, check out the hardware, shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot talk talk talk talk eat eat eat shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot talk talk talk talk ... step on a nail ... shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot shoot..."
• Doubletrouble likes the "esprit de corps of gunbloggers (as do I) and has a request for next year (since .380 ACP magically showed up in decent amounts this year...). I figured it was the least we could do for our esteemed host - especially considering the mess we made of his pristine new backstop... (3" Magnum slugs don't just put a hurting on Jay's shoulder...)
• Weerd Beard posts an AAR that's pretty much how I feel - the bloggershoot is a helluva good time, lots of fun and camaraderie, but it's exhausting. He's also got a long day ahead of him at the hospital with Mrs. Weerdbeard - stop in and wish them both well if you have a moment.

It's always gratifying to see that others had a good time at these events. Getting everything organized takes a fair amount of work, as does setting up the range (and I'm glad I was able to help this year!); seeing everyone having a great time makes it all worthwhile, though. Hearing afterwards that folks enjoyed the event is just the icing on the cake - the very best part, though, is hearing folks say "I can't wait for next year!" the evening of the shoot...
